On 14 March this year, W Bro Bryan Roberts, the Worshipful Master of Innsworth Lodge, presented a cheque, from the Lodge, to Dr Vohra of the Bristol Heart Institute (BHI), part of the Bristol Royal Infirmary group of NHS hospitals.
W Bro Bryan Roberts has met Dr Vohra previously. This meeting was somewhat more pleasant being some 800 days after he had triple heart bypass surgery performed by Dr Vohra.
The Bristol Heart Institute (BHI) was opened in 2009 as a centre of excellence for cardiology care for local people and specialised cardiothoracic care for patients across the South West. The BHI is one of the leading research centres for cardiovasculardisease in the UK and works closely with the University of Bristol to find new treatments for improved patient outcomes and care. The Appeal is to help keep the BHI at the forefront of cardiac research and treatment, and give patients the very best chance of survival, as well as provide the extra things that make them more comfortable.
